Monique Richardson was born in Oakland and raised in Alameda. She found the joy of reading early in life and began writing poetry and short stories in middle school. As a busy wife and mother who homeschooled her son and helped him follow his creative pursuits, Monique was afforded only time enough to journal.
With her son now in college earning a film degree, Monique has more time to write, drawing from many true-life events and a love story. She has been creating poetry, short stories, and a fictional novel, and in the summer of 2019 one of her poems was on display in the Fine Arts Exhibit at the Pleasanton Fair.
Monique is a member of the Pleasanton Art League and has had many photographs shown throughout the Tri-Valley area. Photography is a childhood passion that has provided flexibility while being a busy wife, mother, and teacher.
Monique lives in Dublin with her husband, son and beloved pet. When not writing, she can be found taking online classes in all writing genres. It helps her to polish her work and continue typing away in hopes of someday becoming a published author.
